Keep Me In a Memory

If you can keep me in a memory,
Just keep me there,
Don’t ask me how,
Don’t ask me why,
All the answers are in your heart,
As they have always been..

Keep me in a memory,
tried and true,
I do believe we had a few,
and we sang our love away,
in them..

Keep me in a memory,
if only, just one,
that’s all it would take,
life is too short,
our list of wishes too long..

Keep me in a memory,
that bows to the melancholy,
after the love has gone,
and reality is all we have..

Keep me in a memory,
if only to lament,
we’ve share the laughs and cries,
only the flesh dies..

Keep me in a memory,
gliding over the sorrows,
and wishing for better tomorrows,
we are all broken,
but we are perfect as it is..

Keep me in a memory,
don’t fear if it slips away,
not much stays,
time has a tendency,
to erase everything anyways..

One of the few poems in recent times that came out of a combination of a mellow evening and a busy week.

The South Rim of the Grand Canyon, always kept in my memory.

One of the best pieces of contemporary music that I discovered recently. Enjoy!
