Somewhat Blue

There is a place,
Where all our dreams and wishes rest,
That never came true.

There is a note,
Where the words and music meet,
Without dissonance.

There is a voice,
In the endless tears of desperation,
and the songs that have never been sung.

There is a gaze,
That pierces through right and wrong,
Flowing through our memories along,
Undeniably ours.

There is an expression,
In all of our struggles and triumphs,
That is above words and shall always be.

There will be a time,
Where time itself shall stand still,
and begin to wonder,
was it worth the wait?

As the moments sink to make way for others,
as the bright light perspires through the day,
as the evening toils to give way to all that darkness will see.
There is a vigil at the end of everything,
Suspended in eternity somewhere.

There is a joy that is unbound in all our hearts,
not tied to moments, people, places or either
not belonging to either the bright or the faded,
not escaping in the struggle of everyday,
not withering as much as reality wishes to stay

There is a story yet to be written,
about me and you,
and you and me,
and all that is within us,
when it’s written,
we will know,
what it was to be together,
and how much it took to get there.

I have often wondered about the beauty of music and I would like to share some with every post. Here is one of my contemporary favorites by Max Richter. Enjoy!
